What is Cambourne Arts?
Cambourne Arts is a new organisation that grew out of "Cambourne Stories Taster Sessions", held at the Hub in February 2008.
[If this means nothing to you, you probably came from a search engine. Cambourne is a group of three villages in Cambridgeshire, England, UK. Don't confuse it with the non-U versions: Camborne, Cornwall, UK, or Camborne, Porirua, New Zealand.]
We aim:
- to promote learning through and about arts activities in Cambourne;
- to organise an annual programme of participatory arts and cultural experiences for people of all ages in Cambourne;
- to support existing provision including festivals and community celebrations in Cambourne.
How will we do this? We won't tread on toes. We will help things to happen. The first step is to make contact. This means contact with anyone involved in the arts, which probably includes you.
Do you:
- take photos?
- make videos?
- listen to music?
- paint?
- dance?
- watch videos?
- make music?
- draw?
- read?
- write?
- act?
- quilt?
- embroider?
- sew?
- dance?
- sculpt?
- sing?
- covet concerts?
- appreciate architecture?
- do drama?
- care for circus?
- love carnival?
Most people do one or more of these things. Would you like to take this further? Would you like to exchange experiences with like-minded people? To borrow ideas from them, and lend your ideas to them?
If so, drop us an email (see the Contact Us page) or send us your details on the contact form.
If people want to do something as a group, but don't know how to set it up, we'll see what we can do. We'll circulate your details to others, by email or paper. If you have a web site, we'll happily link to it. If you've got an event coming up, tell us about it, and we'll help you publicise it. If you need help with funding, we may be able to help.
Unless you explicitly say we may, we won't put your personal details (name, age, address or email address) on the web.
We are grateful for the financial and moral support of South Cambridgeshire District Council.
